# Day 24 And the world goes round...

I always imagined myself somehow as an electron around some atom, and you're just, like, bouncing around and spinning. There was a never-ending supply of places to go, people to see, things to do, and fitting it all in became kind of an art.

Tom Freston

P.S: This is a bad image, but it has nothing to do with my photography skills, and everything to do with a globe that doesn't turn well :)

# Day 23 Bead by Bead

“You begin to string words together like beads to tell a story. You are desperate to communicate, to edify or entertain, to preserve moments of grace or joy or transcendence, to make real or imagined events come alive. But you cannot will this to happen. It is a matter of persistence and faith and hard work. So you might as well just go ahead and get started.”

― Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life

# Day 22 The last few leaves!

This picture, and similar scenes every autumn, remind me of O. Henry's "The Last Leaf". Growing up, I was a really big fan of his short stories, and would always try to guess the surprise ending. The gift of Magi, After twenty years, those were some really enchanting stories.

# Day 20 - My creative outlet!

I started photography when my son was little, I think when he was about 5 months old. I used to shoot with a Canon powershot, and it gave me a creative outlet. As a young girl, I used to paint and, I still enjoy it, but don't have as much time to devote to my hobby. Photography, I guess, now fills that gap; and if that were true, then this blog is my art space.

# Day 18 Ahoy Mate!

This is the pirate ship our son got for being so brave during and after his surgery. We built it together yesterday while waiting at the hospital.

# Day 17 - Happy Diwali!

This is the picture I choose as our Diwali card for this year.

# Day 16 Cloudy Sunsets!

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”

# Day 13 Fallen leaves

Our son brought these leaves home on his way back from school. I thought fallen leaves ought to be a perfect end to my autumn week photos!

# Day 8 Ochre Yellow!

Yellow, for me, is the predominant autumn colour in England. Ochre yellow against green moss on fence is a typical autumnal sight!

# Day 7 Nature is pretty is every which way!

This week I plan on documenting the not-so-pretty, or the not usually photographed sights of autumn. This picture is first in the series. It is a dried out plant which is such a common sight here in autumn, but rarely photographed.

# Day 6 Purplypink Fuchsias!

Summer is over and autumn has well set in. Hardy Fuchsias 'Genii' are among the few that flower in summer and continue to do until the first frosts. This shot is from our neighbour's garden.

# Day 5 To be a Woman

Today, we visited a photography exhibition - ‘CamIris 2♀Years’, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of CamIris: Cambridge Women’s Photography Group. I really loved the studio, and enjoyed the exhibition. This sculpture, which was not part of the exhibition, caught my attention.

# Day 4 Marbles

As a child, marbles was my husband's favourite game, and his family tells me that he was pretty good at it! Today, he likes golf. So I think, Chesterton got it right when he said, “I regard golf as an expensive way of playing marbles”. This picture is for his love of the game.
